Software AG, is pleased to announce the appointment of BC Software Systems (Pvt.) Ltd. as the Sole Distributor of their range of XML-based products and solutions in Sri Lanka. BC Software Systems will market the products through several Value Added Resellers (VARs) to be appointed in the near future to address the government, financial and commercial sectors. These VARs would incorporate Software AG XML-based technology into their existing and future solutions to offer robust and advanced solutions to meet the fast-growing demands of their customer base in information content management.

Software AG develops products and solutions that support the XML (Extensible Markup Language) standard. XML simplifies the exchange of documents and data as well as the integration of cutting-edge Web applications into traditional IT architectures. Software AG’s Tamino XML Server is an award winning, high performance XML-based management platform, and EntireX is their leading-edge Integration Server that helps organisations leverage custom-built systems, packaged applications and web services for eSolutions. Software AG’s EntireX XML Mediator is an XML document-exchange tool that automatically manages and controls the processing, transformation and routing of XML documents within and beyond the enterprise. Tamino XML and EntireX will extend the reach of easier enterprise application integration, database management, application engineering, XML storage/management/ publishing and project services. Government, Banking and Finance, Healthcare and other organisations requiring the efficient management of both current and archival information would benefit significantly from the use of Tamino and EntireX, where query and access would typically be 10-20 times faster than the popular relational data base software currently in use in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the Alliance, Clive Tilbrook, Director - Marketing and Channels, Software AG Asia Pacific stated: "Along with our suite of XML products that addresses today's pressing business needs - attaining competitive advantage, growing market share, improving bottom lines, and reducing costs - customers in Sri Lanka will not only be able to obtain cutting-edge technologies from Software AG, but also the highest level of service and support from BCSSL through their trusted Value Added Reseller Partners. This essentially results in a partnership that brings the best resources available from both parties to resolve a customer's business problem. He continued: "As the pioneer and market leader in XML technology, the partnership also fulfils our objective of establishing XML as the lingua franca of the Internet worldwide."

Sunil Wijesinghe, Managing Director, BC Software Systems, stated, “The introduction of Software AG’s line of state-of-the-art XML-based information and content management software is very timely with the launch of the e-Sri Lanka Initiative by the Government. We are committed to actively supporting this process by partnering with leading-edge technology Companies such as Software AG in bringing world-class IT solutions into the local market and are confident that Tamino XML Server would quickly become the de facto standard of choice in information management software in Sri Lanka.”
