Board of Directors

M. ERAJ WIJESINGHE
Mr Eraj Wijesinghe is the Chairman of BC Computers and Managing Director of the Bartleet roup of Companies for over 26 years. During this period the Group diversified its activities into Finance,Information Technology, Manufacturing and Exports. Mr Wijesinghe has a wealth of experience in the plantations sector having steered the parent company, Bartleet & Company to be among the top three tea brokers in the country.
He was also instrumental in developing the financial services subsidiaries within the Bartleet Group including stock broking, money broking and financing. He successfully negotiated a joint-venture agreement recently, between the Bartleet Group and the prestigious Life Insurance Corporation of India , the largest life insurer in the world. Mr Wijesinghe is the Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
He is on the Board of the Financial Sector Reforms Committee, initiated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka He presently holds the position of Vice President of the Asian Badminton Confederation and Council Member of the International Badminton Federation.

SUNIL C WIJESINGHE B.Sc. ( Eng. )
Mr Sunil C Wijesinghe, Jt. Managing Director of BC Computers and other Bartleet Group IT-related Companies, has accumulated a wealth of experience over the past 27 years in the Information & communications Technology (ICT) sector. Mr. Wijesinghe is the Deputy Chairman of Bartleet & Company Limited and is also on the board of several group subsidiaries.

ROHAN WEERESINGHE
Mr Weeresinghe is the Jt. Managing Director of BC Computers, Managing Director of e Services Lanka Ltd., and a Director of the parent company, Bartleet & Company. He is also on the Boards of Bartleet Electronics Limited, BC Software Systems (Pvt) Limited * [a BOI company], Enterprise Technology (Pvt) Ltd., and Bartleet Technologies (Pvt) Limited * . Mr Weeresinghe was appointed a Member of the Board of Governors of the ‘Arthur C Clarke Centre for Modern Technologies' in June 1992. In February 1998, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, by Her Excellency the President of Sri Lanka and served as Chairman until October 2001.
Mr Weeresinghe, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK , and Business Studies Diplomate (UK), worked in UK and Zambia prior to returning to Sri Lanka in 1978. He joined the Greater Colombo Economic Commission (now the Sri Lanka Board of Investment) soon after it was established, as their Manager for Investment Promotion. As head of Investment Promotion, he was responsible for the setting up of the Division and the formulation and execution of international investment promotion strategy and programmes from 1978 - 1983. Mr Weeresinghe joined the Board of BC Computers as Marketing Director in December 1983.
He was responsible for establishing the marketing function of the company and for the development and control of marketing strategies and programmes. In 1989 he was appointed General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. In 1999 he was appointed Jt. Managing Director of the company. Mr Weeresinghe was a member of the committee appointed by the Hon. Minister of Industries, Science & Technology to make recommendations on industrialization strategy for Sri Lanka in 1989, as advisor to the Minister to develop an IT Policy document in 1994 and member of the Presidential Task Force Sub-Committee on University-Industry Linkages & Transfer of Technology in March 1998.
Mr Weeresinghe has successfully managed BC Computers to achieve a pre-eminent position, with his highly developed analytical skills combined with a keen sense of perception of complex situations. The recent priority given to developing ecommerce related business strategies in the context of rapidly changing global market required him to play a key role in identifying business opportunities, and has developed and continues to develop new initiatives and strategic alliances in particular with international organizations.

PRIANCA DAMASCENE PERERA
Mr Perera is the Deputy Managing Director of BC Computers and a Director of the parent company, Bartleet & Company. He counts over 16 years experience in the field of IT and has seen involved in the entire spectrum of activities specifically in software and services.
He is also a Director of e Services Lanka Ltd., Bartleet Electronics and is on the Boards of BC Software systems, Enterprise Technology and Bartleet Technologies. Having gained wide exposure at ‘Associated Management Services', a respected firm of management consultants, Mr Perera joined Bartleet Electronics in 1980 and subsequently BC Computers in 1982. He was instrumental in setting up the software and support services functions of both Bartleet subsidiaries.
He was also responsible for setting up a limited operation in the UK for developing specialised application software packages and the marketing of computer systems. Over the years, Mr. Perera has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in understanding and meeting customer requirements, and is frequently consulted by customers and those requiring counsel in IT. He has managed several large, time-critical projects in multi-disciplinary environments involving both local and multi-national organisations in the implementation of mainframe-based turnkey solutions.
He has been involved in negotiating and drawing up contracts for the provision of IT services for both Government and large private organisations. At present he is focused on key marketing functions of BC Computers, and directing the management team towards achieving goals. He manages the relationships with several multi-national technology partners effectively, and attends international seminars and conferences conducted by them. He has a good understanding of the emerging trends in IT and the marketplace and is responsible for influencing several strategic decisions made by the Company.

CHRISTOPHER PARAKRAMA
Mr Christopher Parakrama, a Director of BC Computers has over 20 years experience in the field of information technology, specialising in systems and software design. Having completed his tertiary education at the University of Sri Lanka, Colombo in 1977, and he proceeded to the UK where he entered the field of IT and continued his academic career with post-graduate studies in software design and business systems.
During the period 1980 - 1983 he worked on a number of software projects rising to the senior position of project leader and consequently as an analyst/programmer and software consultant, both in London and Lagos, Nigeria. Later, he returned to Sri Lanka and joined Computer Systems Consultants, a subsidiary of KPMG Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Company as general manager of their software house.
During his six years with CSC, he was overall in charge of all aspects of the company reporting to the board of directors. Mr Parakrama joined BC Computers in February 1989 as a software consultant and was appointed to the Board of both BC Computers and Bartleet Electronics in July 1989 as director in charge of software development and software support services. He is also a Director of Enterprise Technology, Bartleet Technologies, BC Software Systems and Financial Systems International.
Over the years Mr Parakrama has gained a vast amount of experience both in Sri Lanka and overseas in managing large, time-critical software projects. In addition to his direct responsibilities in managing software & services, he is also involved in all other decision-making processes of the companies. He was a council member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the board of NAITA (National Apprenticeship and Industries Training Authority) and the CINTEC working committee on electronic security. He is a Past President of SLASI (Sri Lanka Association for the Software Industry) and a Past President of SLCVA (Sri Lanka Computer Vendors Association).
He is a former council member of CINTEC (Council For Information Technology) and has been a member of CINTEC working committee on education and the National Computer Examination. He has also served on the working group for National Software Standards under the SLSI (Sri Lanka Standards Institute), The National Working Group on IT and as a resource person advising to the BOI on the software sector.
